2015 Industry News

24 September 2015 - Dr Elaine Saunders (2011 Vic Pearcey Award) wins one of the Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards for 2015.  She is recognised in the Innovation category for her contribution to hearing aid development, research and education (media release).

The actual award event will be on October 16, Sydney Town Hall.

16 September 2015 - Pearcey welcomes new PM.

28 July 2015 - Ian Birks, former CEO of AIIA passed away. Ian was a passionate advocate for the ICT industry and involved in many influential organisations including Ideas International (CEO), the Australian Services Roundtable (CEO), the Australian Government's Small Business Ministerial Advisory Council; the CSIRO Digital Productivity Flagship and Services Advisory Committee; Australian Government's IT Industry Innovation Council (chair) and AIIA (former Board member).

Ian was closely associated with the Pearcey Foundation. He and Charles Lindop (co-chair Pearcey NSW) initiated our first Australia 3.0 event back in 2011 as a collaborative effort between AIIA, ACS and Pearcey and was involved until recently. Ian's foresight and industry leadership will be sorely missed.
