Vale Barry de Ferranti

One of the great Australian ICT pioneers, Prof Barry de Ferranti passed away in late January 2019 at the age of 90. Barry had a great sustained involvement with Sydney University, where he did his Science and Engineering Degrees (1946-50).

He was a great supporter of the local industry and made a major contribution to Australian computing technology in the early days of our industry, especially with Sydney Uni's own SILLIAC.
