Pc Pioneer Wesley Clark Passes Away

PC pioneer, Dr Wesley A. Clark, passed away in February 2016, aged 88. Many of us in Australia may not recall Dr Wesley Clark from the Lincoln Labs at MIT in Boston, MA who introduced the LINC - the Laboratory Instrument Computer- in 1961.

Historians credit the LINC as the precursor to the Personal Computer as it heavily influenced the design of computer systems at Xerox's PARC as well as the early Apple desktop computers.

Take a look at the recent obituary in the New York Times. Dr Clark was visionary in that he recognised in the 1960s the shift away from Time Share, all the rage at that time, towards low cost semiconductor-based computer systems.
