2015 Csiro Benson Entrepreneur Award

The Pearcey Foundation is delighted that in 2015 CSIRO is once again sponsoring the Benson Entrepreneur Award. This award recognises a mid-career ICT entrepreneur who has made an outstanding contribution to the Australian ICT industry. CSIRO's support will ensure this nationwide competition produces the highest quality nominees drawn from all seven states.

The Benson Entrepreneur Award is an annual award selected from the seven state and territory Pearcey Award winners. The travel for each state winner to the National Medal Event for the overall Benson Entrepreneur Award winner is sponsored by CSIRO.

The Benson Entrepreneur Award is an annual "winner of winners" award selected from the seven state and territory Pearcey Award winners. The Award commemorates the work and dedication of long-term champion of the Australian ICT industry, Tony Benson, who died in February 2005. An industry stalwart for more than 40 years, Tony set an outstanding example of selfless contribution to Australian ICT industry development.

In identifying outstanding individuals worthy of this award, the Pearcey Foundation is embracing all aspects of the ICT industry from traditional Information Science to the latest technological advances in social networking, multi-media, games technologies, mining, health, bio-tech and the like - the very broadest spectrum of where Australia's innovators thrive.

This year's CSIRO Benson Entrepreneur Award will be presented as part of a gala dinner event on Tuesday 17 November 2015 in Sydney. The Pearcey Foundation and the ACS National organisation are joining forces for this national awards evening at which the Pearcey Medal, the Pearcey Hall of Fame will be presented along with the delivery of the Pearcey Oration by an eminent Australian.
