2009 Victorian Pearcey Award

The 2009 Vic Award was presented to Mr Robert Murray as part of the the 2009 National Pearcey Event on Thursday 1st October 2009 at the Sofitel on Collins in Melbourne.

This award is a State award aimed at encouraging and rewarding fresh and innovative talent in the ICT profession. A cash grant of $2000 is awarded to an individual during his or her career who has demonstrated innovative and pioneering achievement and contribution to technological development in Victoria. Trevor Pearcey built Australia's first and the world's fourth electronic computer in 1948 in Sydney. It is the oldest surviving computer in the world. The Pearcey Foundation's objective is to reinforce the recognition, knowledge and appreciation of Australian contribution to the development and growth of the ICT professions, research and industry.
