NSW Entrepreneur of the Year Award
This prestigous award is aimed at encouraging and rewarding fresh and innovative talent in the ICT and Digital Media professions. The award goes to an individual during his or her career who has demonstrated innovative and pioneering achievement and contribution to technological development in NSW. The winner is selected through "peer judging" by previous winners of the award and members of the NSW Pearcey committee.
2011 Awards Evening, NSW Parliament, 12th October 2011
This year's event included a panel discussion on "The Secret Sauce for Australian Technology Entrepreneurs".
Moderated by Mark Jones of Filtered Media and the AFR The Scoop, panelists included Dean McEvoy (Spreets), Richard White (WiseTech Global and CargoWise), Ruslan Kogan (Kogan), Karaline Loiterton (Wedding List Co).
Following a welcome by the Deputy Director General for NSW Trade and Investment, Mr Barry Buffier, the awards were presented by the NSW Deputy Premier, the Hon Andrew Stoner MP.
9 special recognition awards were presented, with the recipients inducted into our "entrepreneurs hall of fame", and the pinnacle award, as judged by their peers, went to Simon Poole and Steve Frisken of Finisar.

In 2010, the award was presented to Lars and Jens Rasmussen, founders of Google Maps and Google Wave by the Hon Eric Roozendaal MLC, NSW Treasurer and Minister for State and Regional Development in front of over 220 industry leaders.
